REVIEW: The Corner Bakery
Our first experience with The Corner Bakery was in downtown Ft. Worth, Texas. We have visited there many times and it was always very consistant. We would give that location probably 4 out of 5 stars, mainly because they didn't seem to keep up with the coffee station. Coffee is a big deal for morning crowds, by the way.
With these high hopes, we visited the new location in Longview, Texas. Upon our morning arrival, there was only one group seated and one man ordering. However, a five minute non-business related conversation took place before they even took his order. We were never acknowledged. When it was finally our turn, our order was taken, we grabbed some coffee and took a spot by the window. Our meal was pricey at almost $40 for our two meals, two coffees and a juice. The decor was noticably un-homey, but we weren't going to let that dampen our day. Our food did seem to take forever. When it finally came, it was pretty delicious - however, the fried potatoes were shriveled and harder and chewier than raisins. Much harder. We are hoping our next trip will water down our disappointing experience at our local Corner Bakery. We gave it 3 stars out of 5
